History

Our History curriculum is delivered across four cycles, which are split into two milestones. Throughout Years 3 and 4, pupils learn the foundational skills of each subject for Milestone 2 across two learning cycles. In Years 5 and 6, pupils learn the fundamental foundations for Milestone 3 across another two cycles. The cycles are designed so that they can be delivered in separate or mixed year groups.

By the end of Year 4 and Year 6, pupils will have covered all the creative themes and topics for their milestone. Our pupils' learning journeys are represented through our subject pathways. The pathways show the order in which pupils will learn the content of each cycle, consisting of the acquisition, development and application of ‘skills knowledge’ and ‘sticky knowledge’ for each topic. The key concepts are repeated in each cycle as students progress in their understanding of them.
